In the Summer of 2001, Andy McCutcheon relocated from the East Coast to
Los Angeles to promote his new release, Welcome to Periphery, on San
Francisco's NMX Records. By early 2002, McCutcheon had teamed up with
Matt Frazier (drums), a recent transplant from central Pennsylvania, and
Stevie Utstien (keyboards), originally from New Zealand. Since March,
the ANDY McCUTCHEON BAND has been playing the clubs of Hollywood on a
regular basis, honing their unique brand of energetic, retro-inspired
Alt / Rock to rapidly increasing and enthusiastic audiences. In July of
2002, McCutcheon signed a distribution deal for Welcome to Periphery
with Graphic Sound Records and is currently touring the West Coast in
support of a national college radio campaign for Fall of 2002.
McCutcheon's first release, Out of the Lion's Mouth, gained him national
attention with over 100 adds on top ranking college radio stations, four
#1 singles on mp3.com (where he has also been a top 10 selling artist in two genres).
